FAQs for Levitise and our response to COVID

last updated: 20 January 2022

Here are the measures we have in place to deal with COVID. These may change based on specific updates from the government as they are released.

  • A safe distance of at least 1 meter is kept between staff and clients at all time.
  • All clients, employees and visitors are required to scan the SafeEntry QR code before entering the studio and upon leaving.
  • Clients and visitors feeling unwell should not enter the studio.
  • Before entering the studio, you should declare if you have received a stay-home notice, or MC for respiratory symptoms and if you have been in contact with a confirmed case.
  • All employees, clients or visitors must wear a mask at all times. Personal training clients and sauna clients may remove their mask during the training session but must put the mask back on once the session is finished.
  • The equipment is disinfected after each session and common spaces will be cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. 15 minutes breaks between personal training sessions and 20 minutes breaks between sauna sessions will be implemented in order to disinfect the equipment.
  • Only 1 personal training client using the gym at any one time.

Q. What additional measures are you doing to keep the COVID-19 at bay at Levitise?

We are not allowing anyone to come to the studio for 14 days if you...

  • have arrived in Singapore from any country
  • have come into contact with anyone who has been abroad
  • are on a mandatory Stay at Home Notice (SHN)
  • are feeling unwell
  • have a high temperature (≥37.5)/fever
  • have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with Covid19
  • are awaiting test results for Covid-19
  • are on Leave of Absence

Q. What are you doing to prevent infection in the studio?

We are a, small, personal 1-on-1 based facility that works with C level executives, mostly from the finance and legal industries. We rarely have more than a handful of people in the 1500 sq ft studio at any one time and each one is working with a coach individually or using our Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna. So from a social distancing perspective that is achieved naturally without us having to do anything different. Additional measures we have added since the emergence of the Coronavirus is...

  • everyone is required to use hand sanitisers as soon as they enter the studio
  • all gym equipment is wiped down and sanitised between use
  • the Coronavirus cannot survive temperatures of 56 degrees or more so in between sauna sessions we run our sauna for 30 minutes at 60 degrees: Stability and inactivation of SARS coronavirus and High Heat May Kill the Coronavirus
  • the sauna is made of Eco Certified Western Canadian Red Cedar – the highest grade of sauna material you can buy (most are made using cheaper alternative like plywood that can give off toxic fumes with heat). Canadian Red Cedar is antifungal, antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiviral - Western Red Cedar: Antibacterial, Antifungal, Purifier, Dreamweaver
  • we change the floor mats and towels between each session

 Q. That’s great how else are you helping your personal training, sauna and nutrition and lifestyle coaching clients?

Personal Training

  • Well for our personal training clients that are working from home we are offering 1-to-1 zoom coaching to help keep them accountable so that they can keep on track to get the results they want. Mildly stressing your body through exercise is one of the best ways to boost your immune system. Exercise is more important than ever if you’re confined to a 1000 sq. ft apartment for 14 days!
  • We’re specialising in exercises that boost immunity (strength) and avoiding exercises that overly stress the body, fry the adrenal glands and add to much of an allostatic load. Not all exercise is healthy and like diet it’s important to get it right. This is not so dissimilar to our anticancer based training protocols as discussed here.
  • And here’s an article with 249 scientific references on how exercises boosts the immune system: Debunking the Myth of Exercise-Induced Immune Suppression: Redefining the Impact of Exercise on Immunological Health Across the Lifespan

 Sauna

  • As the Coronavirus does not survive in temperatures above 56C for 30 minutes (see above) we are recommending this as the minimum sauna temperature for all clients
  • We also use green light chromatherapy in the sauna which is beneficial for the respiratory system and respiratory viruses like SARS Coronavirus

Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching

  • As always these can be conducted here in our studio or over video conferencing if stuck at home or travelling
  • We are spending more time tailoring our client’s programmes to boost their immunity and respiratory functions, if that is a necessity, with nutrition, breathing, stress management and other lifestyle tools.
